We are tired of all this waiting. We are tired of this coronavirus nightmare. Our life is on hold, everything is on hold and we are tired of waiting for ‘real life’ to return to normal. There’s a sense that we just pretend that we are alive, but life doesn’t really ‘happen’ here and now. Here and now everything is frozen. Life used to ‘happen’ some time in our past and it will hopefully happen again some time in our future, but not here, not now.
This is a brief talk about waiting as a particular form of prayer, and as the real meaning of a Christian life. Followers of Christ are called to ‘await the Resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come’.
