St Anthony Monastery, Arizona

It’s been a while since I posted something and I apologise for that. The following months are vital for our monastery and that means I can hardly balance all the things that need to be done. The most important thing is that I get in touch with as many people as I possibly can, so I may present the monastery and, God willing, get their support for what we are trying to achieve on Mull.

After Phoenix, I was blessed with a chance to visit St Anthony’s Monastery, in Arizona; as you may know, this is one of the monasteries Fr Ephrem from the Holy Mountain founded in the United States. It was such a wonderful gift to get there, and – even more – to actually see Fr Ephrem and get his blessing. I was especially happy to hear the monastics there speaking English among themselves and with the pilgrims – from what I’d heard, I thought they only used Greek, and I was so happy to see that is not true.

  • Great to know that you are in good health and mood having such a wonderful time at St Anthony’s Monastery.
By the way, quite a change in landscape!

    • Thank you, Mishenka; you’re right, Mother Cassiana’s monastery in the Rockies and Fr Ephrem’s monastery in the Arizona desert are worlds apart! But we are all united in faith – isn’t that a miracle?
